INTELLIGENT CITIES AND URBAN HERITAGE EXAMPLE OF MOSTAR AND SARAJEVO

Majority of historic sites, already inscribed, like Mostar, or proposed for inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List, like Sarajevo, are varieties from larger cities that have World Heritage monuments and sites within their urban territories. Through time and space, in different regions, the most significant characteristic of historical urban settlements is a continuous change, and the intelligent city or a smart city represents a new, current phase in the urban development. The intelligence of cities "resides in the increasingly effective combination of digital telecommunication networks (the nerves), ubiquitously embedded intelligence (the brains), sensors and tags (the sensory organs), and software (the knowledge and cognitive competence)“ Preservation of heritage is a permanent process that is subject to the influences of socioeconomic factors, inseparable from the overall situation of social outbuilding and should be at the center of any urban policy and management strategy. An integrated approach should be applied to link contemporary architecture, sustainable urban development and landscape integrity. Mostar or Sarajevo to became the smart city has the task to create a human urban landscape with full respect to all its historic layers healthier civil society and stronger democracy through the use of technology that engages, serves, and connects its citizens, to support the efficient exchange of information and services between the public and the government. To establish a smart city requires a good government and solid economic condition.
