URBAN RESILIENCE IN CLIMATE CHANGE

Cities existing as living systems in spatial organization; are constantly affected by their environment, either positively or negatively. The most intense impact experienced in recent years is undoubtedly climate change. The effects of climate change are felt as pressure in cities. Changes in weather events due to climate change affect the environment ecologically and economically; affects people socially. As an indicator of this fortification, cities are actually the most important key to the solution of climate change. Resilience in cities means ensuring the continuity of order in the sudden risks and negative situations that occur in the cities. The resilience of urban settlements is important in terms of adapting to climate change and taking measures in terms of the ecosystem of urban open green spaces. Urban resilience principles should be determined for the change in recent years, the negative effects of climate change should be included in the design process and its sustainable adaptation to the urban morphology should be ensured. Cities designed in this way create livable environments for future generations by solving the spatial problems that have arisen over time in a sustainable way. In this study, the concept of urban planning about the criteria of the principle of 'Urban Resilience' and the planning of Urban Climate Change Resilience (UCCR) strategies and actions were examined. In this fiction, information is given about the conceptual process of durable urban planning and the cities that can manage this process. In this direction, the effect of urban open green spaces on urban strength against all kinds of disasters and risk formations within the scope of urban planning has been revealed.
