The subject of human and environment interaction can be examined in sociological, psychological and ecological contexts. The situations caused by this interaction shape the natural and man-made artificial environment. The human being, who lost his sense of empathy and replaced it with the ego in his interaction with his natural environment, which consists of biotic and abiotic landscape components, has created today's ecological problems. Ecological society can only be formed when the ecological ego prevails over the ego. The ego component that regulates man's relations with nature is the ecological ego. This component regulates the ego's relations with the environment. It is an ego state that does not harm nature in the dimensions of thought, emotion and behavior and respects all living and non-living beings in nature. While the ecological ego is instrumental in becoming ecologically literate, there is a need for individuals educated within the scope of systems theory and ecological system theory for a society consisting of ecologically literate individuals. System theory, which cares about the part-whole relationship, accepts that every system is related to each other, and tries to understand them, is in the relevant field of many disciplines. The theory is used in many fields such as biology, social sciences, behavioral sciences, educational sciences and engineering. In this direction, information is given about the concepts of ecology, ecological ego, ecological society, ecological literacy, environmental education/ecological education, system theory and ecological system theory. The possible contribution of being educated in ecological system theory in the construction of the future and solving its problems at the level of awareness, knowledge, skills, attitude, behavior and participation is discussed.
