TRANSFORMATION OF SPACE DESIGN: VIRTUAL REALITY

The concept of space for each period the user is in has developed evolve depending on the change and transformation of the age. The process of creating space, which started with the concept of shelter, has survived to the present day by being formed from certain volumes such as caves, tents, shelters, and houses and turning into various spaces. In this development process of the space, the design of the space has found its place in various forms and meanings over time. At the same time, the development of technology and keeping up with the times have changed the meaning of real space. In this way, the concept of interaction and interact has become an indispensable element of daily life. The change process in information technologies has been integrated into all life, causing an increase in digital consumption. Today, the process of transforming from a physical space to a virtual space has become attractive for many users. Thus, the use of virtual reality applications in space design has become an important issue. Two- and three-dimensional programs, which were previously obtained by using various tools of the computer, have transformed the perception of reality and left their place to the virtual reality environment. In this context, the use of space design, virtual reality, and virtual reality applications in space design has been examined in the context of the literature. In this direction, it is aimed to examine the effect of virtual reality, which is the output of the technology age, on the transformation of space design and its use in space design. As a result, it has been concluded that the studies on the subject are insufficient, considering that the use of space design together with the concept of technology will be developed beyond virtual reality, and virtual reality and space design will contribute to wide and different disciplines.
