Denim designers always looking for better laundry processes due to the effect of denim laundries on enviroment and consumptions.
In recent years, Colin’s able to manage using more sustinable production ways to create denims and reduce most of the consumptions of water, electricity as well as material usage. Our denim collection already in an eco-friendly zone of textile industry. In this collections, to create some vintage and used look of a denim garment, we used a different method, rather than concentional method that is used all around the world. Our goal as designers, we always use sustainable approaches and try to implement these processes to our products and collections. For this purpose, as designers, we focused on to create a new collection, based on pomice stone alternatives to use in production outcome on garments.
Our first approach was to find the best fabric, and a concept that can define authenticity in denim garments. When starting first trials on fabric, it was decided to create a vintage 80’s- 90’s silhouttes with secondhand look denims. The first alternative to pumice stone was a product, which is a sustainable synthetic purmice stone consists of two polymers. Similar or improved effects to conventional purmice washing have been achieved. 30 different denim product were designed in total . EIM Scores of all designs were found below 30. Tear strenght test results (warp/weft +1300/1100), colour fastness values of rubbing (dry/wet +3/3) and light (+4) results of the products were adaquete.
